Time for the beach life in Kamari

Santorini part 6/8, Kamari

It was time for my friend to get herself swimming to the mediterranean sea, so we drew to Kamari.
Kamari is a cosmopolitan beach resort on the south east of Santorini, which has been awarded the Blue Flag. The long stretch of beach lies under the impressive mountain of Mesa Vouno. The water is deep and blue, the sand is black (just imagine how hot it is to walk in summer!)
A stone-paved promenade for strolling that runs parallel to the beach stretches across the crescent moon shaped bay. This is closed off to traffic during the summer months.
Kamari offers a wealth of cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, as well as a lively nightlife. The beach is organized, with sun beds, umbrellas, water sports and diving.

I think this is a good destination if you are thinking to come over to Santorini. From there you can use public transport to Fira and Oia or just rent car, motorbike etc..

Looks like dried sunflowers :)

Boulevard beside the sea.

I got excited when I saw these signs, but unfortunaly we had just rather heavy breakfast...

This bar was very pinky, even the waitress had pinkish hair!

Young brave men jumping from the rock.

Champagne with strawberries, yammy!!!

There is a constant connection with a small boats from Kamari to Perissa, which is another beach village other side of the rock.

  1. Santoriiniin on kyllä joskus pakko päästä.Upea paikka ja hienoja kuvia.Kyllä kelpaisi ottaa siellä drinksuja rantatuolissa.

    1. Kamari on selvästi edullisempi kuin esim Fira tai Oia, mutta aavistuksen hinnakkaampi kuin muut Kreikan saaret. Hyvä tukikohta, jos Santorinille lomaa kaipailee!
