What´s happening?

Our days have been plenty of things, so my blog has been on a tiny break! Sea, city visits, food, cooking, menu, jewelries, photographing and many more things, so the life hasn´t been quiet at all, certainly if you have two dog buddies with you, it never gets boring!

Last weeks have been more or less hot, so we spend plenty of time in and under water, equally. We have never been so long in one spot, this place will beat all my records, but it is a great place to be with the doggy and having nice people around. We will continue touring somewhere in August again and now we live on the moment :)

Season has started!

Season 2015 is now officially started in Crete ( and no, this is not a joke of 1 of April)! Since the Easter is rather early this year, means that the season starts earlier. Many tavernas opens this week, gives me more choice :). It is almost hard to believe that suddenly there will be more people!

I am still in Frangokastello, the little village on the south of Crete, 75 km from Chania and enjoying the Libyan sea and its view from my camper. Some amounts of tourists, has arrived for the easter holiday and kids are joyfully screaming around. One remarkable thing is that all those little rental cars are slowly arriving which means less smooth driving on Crete. But actually after this windy, rainy, cloudy, snowy winter it is also nice to come across to some more people, so welcome in Crete!

Birthdays, baby goats and petanque

It is always so nice to be in Frangokastello, such a nice stop with beautiful beach and of course meeting always the nice Greek family from here! This time my English camper friends were here too, as they also like to come back and back to this spot.

We celebrated Linda´s birthday, I watch the petanque, played with team UK, Greek and France and had a chance to feed a baby goat! Many nice moments and conversations with Linda, the woman who can talk non-stop, in a good way :). Most of days she was coming to my camper for a few hours chat, she has so many stories to tell, I miss her already since they left on Friday.

Monday should come better weather with plenty of sun, so we will stick around still a while in Frangokastello.

Sunsets & beach walks in Frangokastello

As I knew this place as a perfect stop to enjoy from peace and beach walks, I spent in Frangokastello many days again. Last year I learned to know an extremely friendly (so Greek!) family in there and I was happy to meet them again. Frangokastello is about 70 km from Chania in the south coast.

Greek Dance in the Castle

I was lucky to see Greek Dance session while staying in Frangokastello, the idea was to leave that very same day, but the mind was changed since I was hearing live music from the castle. And good I did change the mind indeed! Group of dancers and the band were having several hours session on the stage inside the castle and it was filmed and coming out some point in the Greek TV, so I was told...

Pictures really doesnt tell it all, the sound of the music was amazing in this castle and when the guys were stepping their foot to the stage floor, the noise of it was wow!!! Im glad I did not miss this!

Days in Frangokastello

As I did visite Frangokastello already earlier in November, see the old update by clicking HERE , but the weather was not so good, so I had now an excellent weather to camp here for several days. Was also a stop to do the Imbros gorge from here. I was everyday stunned about the colors of the sea in here, such a nice beach to stay! The next update will be also from here since I was lucky to see a Greek Dance session done in the castle, which was filmed and coming out from Greek TV on some point, so I was told..

Frangokastello to Chora Sfakion

Frangokastello castle was built by the Venetians in 1371-74 to deter pirates and to protect Venetian nobles and their properties. Official name was originally Castle of St. Nikitas, but since the local never accepted the Catholic foreigners they called the castle Frangokastello, meaning "Franks = the Catholic foreigners". The name eventually stuck and was adopted by the Venetians as well and today it still carry the same name. The castle is located next to see and could be a nice spot to stay in a sunny day, but I was not lucky with the weather so the road continued to Chora Sfakion - village nearby...
