Visiting Acropolis

Yes, finally I managed to visit this ancient place, better late than ever! Well since I am still waiting to get my new window I have time to explore little this city. Weather has been pretty much grey, cool and one day we had huge rain with hails and I was told that such a rain hasn´t been falling in more than 20 years..
rain, rain, rain with hails! Photo from my roof window.

Day after the rainy day was getting less rainy day, so I took the buss and metro to get myself to Acropolis of Athens. The campsite is locating maybe 10 km away from the center, but there are good connections by buss and metro. One ticket costed 1.2 e and it is valid for 70 minutes, more than enough time to get to the center. I just love to use the public transports in cities and get lost in the towns:).

My first photo at the entrance of Acropolis, not allowed for the dogs....

My second photo directly after the entrance, dogs wondering around..

Well, I guess these guys are living in the site permanently, they are far looking skinny and they were not a bit interested about the people passing by, having these lazy sleepy looks, like beeing at home.

Entrance fee to Acropolis is 12 e, but it takes some time to see everything that it offers. Guided tour could be nice, but I was just reading some of the signs, to get more idea about each building.

up to Acropolis
Acropolis is located on a flat rock, 150 meters above sea level and the view from the top is pretty amazing, you can see whole Athens and the sea behind.

It is a big city indeed!

It started to rain again when I was to the top of the Acropolis, I didnt see good the whole site, I decided to get myself down to the old town and have a drink somewhere protected..more pics in the next update!

  2. Hei, Nomadish!
